MPEG-1 is the standard video format for synchronizing to deposition transcripts and for archiving in a discovery management program. MPEG-1 files are Widows Media Player® and PowerPoint® compatible. The files are playable on a PC computer and a few high-end DVD players. Affordable Video Solutions uses professional Optibase encoding boards that produce excellent MPEG-1 video and audio quality. The file size is also manageable with two hours of video only taking 1.1 gb of storage space. You can fit an all day videotaped deposition on one DVD data disc.
MPEG-2 is the video format used for making a DVD video Disc. It plays in a DVD player or on a computer with a DVD drive and DVD playing software. A DVD video disc contains two hours of high quality video. Affordable Video Solutions only uses first class DVD blank media to ensure proper playback on all DVD playing devices. A DVD video disc is good for viewing, but has limitations for playback in trial. During inadmissible portions of a deposition when playing a DVD video disc for a jury, the video and audio have to be cutout. The TV screen goes black until the portion has played and then cuts back in. This can be annoying when editing out multiple pages. When playing video depositions in trial it is time saving and more effective to have the video synchronized to the text or edited beforehand.
MPEG-4 video can be uploaded into any of Apple’s® video playing devices such as iPod®, iPad® or iPhone®. Take your videos on the road and watch them on your iPod®, iPad® or iPhone® and store the videos in your iTunes® library.
Video Text Synchronized DVDs are very powerful discovery tools and great for presenting at mediation or trial. At Affordable Video Solutions, we use TimeCoder Pro® to synchronize transcript text to video. The final product is delivered to you on a DepoView® DVD that has the capability for you to do text searches, drag and drop to make video clips, export video clips for emailing and export clips directly into a PowerPoint® presentation. You can also have the deposition exhibits hyperlinked to the transcript for viewing. The disc also contains the upload files for importing into Sanction®, Trial Director® and LiveNote®. The greatest advantage to synchronizing a deposition is that you can edit out inadmissible portions of depositions very quickly and play to the jury a seamless presentation of the testimony. In research it has been proven that jurors retain more information by having evidence presented electronically. When playing a synched DVD you are giving the jurors the chance to see, hear and read the testimony. Reach each juror on multiple cognitive levels.
Video transcoding is the process of converting one digital video file into another. We can take all modern video formats and convert them into any other modern video format including: AVI, WMV, MOV, FLV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and many other video formats. We can format videos for your website, YouTube and all other social media sites.
Affordable Video Solutions can also duplicate all non-copyright protected CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R and DVD-RW discs as well as any modern videotape media.
